Castlemere Hotel Visiting Blackpool
Blackpool has something for every age and taste.
We, at the Castlemere, are always happy to help guests plan their holiday and if you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
The famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach attracts six and a half million visitors per year. Take a trip on the heart stopping rides; on the Pepsi-Max Big One (pictured) you will rise to a height of 213 ft and then descend at a speed of 74 miles per hour. Opposite the Pleasure Beach you will find the indoor tropical paradise of the Sandcastle complex with its water slides, wave pool, bar and cafes.
Blackpool Promenade can be enjoyed by foot or tram, taking in the Irish Sea air, the golden sands and the bustle of Blackpool's Golden Mile. The Promenade is around 7 miles long, stretching from Starr Gate to the boundary of Cleveleys and Thornton. In recent years there has been a make-over of the seafront in South Shore which features various open air art works. Take a stroll along the 3 splendid piers, each with its own delightful character and attractions.
An absolute must, during your stay, is a visit to the world famous Blackpool Tower; built in 1894. Whatever the weather, the tower offers an exciting fun packed family day out. Beneath the tower itself are seven floors offering live entertainment throughout the day. Dance in the magnificent Tower Ballroom, delight at the circus with its clowns and acrobats and view the varied exhibitions. Take the lift, which during the season carries approximately 7,000 people a day skywards to look down on Blackpool. While at the summit dare you walk across the glass floor?
Blackpool is renowned for offering a vast array of night life. Top class shows are staged at theatres such as the Grand Theatre and the Opera
House. Each pier also has its own theatre and the Pleasure Beach provides Cabaret Shows and their Ice Spectacular. Many bars also have live entertainment and feature the cream of British Clubland. There is also a wide choice of clubs and discos.
In Autumn, when all other seaside resorts are closing down, Blackpool becomes a blaze of coloured lights - BLACKPOOL ILLUMINATIONS - one of England's greatest tourist attractions and often dubbed "The Greatest Free Show on Earth".
